Agantaram Mission Field
Project Overview
Agantaram is a community in northern Kaduna with over 150 children who have never been to school. Join us in sending and sustaining Serafina and Joshua as missionaries to the remote village of Agantaram. They will be living with the people, discipling the believers, and teaching academic subjects to children aged 6-17.

Missionary Emmanuel Gammaniel, Serafina, and Joshua on their visit to the Agantaram community.
How the journey to Agantaram Started
During the last week of April 2025, we reached out to the Surubu tribe in a village called Agantaram. The experience began with the prayers from the DaBible Foundation team, which transformed everything. People contributed willingly, driven by a passion to spread the Good News to those who need it. There is no nobler calling or better investment in one’s life than telling others how to know God personally and enjoy Him forever. Agantaram is a community that is somewhat “hidden”; only a few people are aware of its existence. Our team members were amazed by its location, as it seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. Among all the places in Northern Kaduna, the Lord chose Agantaram for Himself. When the people learned about our arrival, they eagerly anticipated our visit, as nothing like this had ever happened to them before.
Agantaram is an isolated village in Kaduna State that is not widely known. Despite not being close to a larger town, the village faces significant challenges:
- Lack of schools for children
- Lack of social amenities
- Lack of health facilities
- Early marriages for girls
- Young boys dropping out of school
Our team comprised over 25 passionate young people from Kaduna, Plateau State, Abuja, Kafanchan, and Zaria, along with two security personnel. It was a long trip, and we spent the entire day traveling, arriving in the village late in the evening. We immediately set up to meet the people as soon as the team arrived.

Our Experience at Agantaram
The entire experience felt divinely orchestrated; it was evident that God had the people at heart. The locals were overjoyed to welcome us; they could hardly believe people had traveled far away to meet them. We began engaging with the community by teaching the children songs. Our experience was remarkable; despite some team members not being fluent in Hausa, they spoke confidently when addressing the community. We all felt the invisible hand of God at work, with no struggle in our communication. There was a palpable hunger among the people, even after our initial contact, when adults stayed back to ask questions.
Day two began with the team meeting early in the morning to worship, pray, and plan for the day. Each of us could testify to God’s presence during our excellent worship sessions, words coming to confirm the prayers made for the community. The activities on Day two included prayers, intense worship, a film show, Bible teaching, games, feeding, and sharing of gifts.
All the children went home with gifts such as:
- Shoes
- Toothpaste and Brushes
- Books
- Pens and Pencils
- Sanitary Pads for young ladies
Our team engaged in extensive discussions with parents and youth, which were filled with questions and interactions for hours. We even organized a craft session where they learned to make bracelets that symbolize salvation, constantly reminding them of what Jesus did for them on the cross. The mothers participated in a Bible study and a health talk on personal hygiene and nutrition for their children.
The Agantaram community expressed immense gratitude for everything. Some women returned home to bring us various local dishes, begging us to stay longer. The entire experience was fulfilling because many individuals sacrificed their time to pray, contributed financially, or offered themselves to serve.
Impact of the Outreach
The impact of this outreach is indescribable; Agantaram village is not the same anymore. The Lord brought His light and truth to the community. All the children received gifts reminding them of God’s love and care. We believe this marks the beginning of incredible transformations within the community.
Follow-up Visit to Agantaram Community
As written by Missionary Emmanuel Gamaliel.
Yesterday (April 24th, 2025), I visited the Agantaram community with Sarafina and Mr. Joshua, the two volunteers who will serve as missionaries there. The community members were surprised and happy to see us again.

We had a wonderful time with the children and the community leader. We shared our plans and discussed God’s direction for us, and they rejoiced over our vision.
During our visit, we gathered data on the children aged 3 to 17. Unfortunately, about 99% of them cannot read or write. Many have dropped out of school, and those who do attend are not regular. Most of the children and parents don’t know many Bible stories. The community is looking forward to the start of school.
I emphasized that this project would not be one-sided; we must collaborate with them. I requested mud blocks to help with construction, but they mentioned they face challenges with water availability in the community, making it difficult to produce the blocks.
The community chief expressed his gratitude for the proposed school and showed us potential land for the structures. However, except for the church, they lack adequate space to start the school temporarily.
Thanks
Emmanuel Gammaliel
To start our work as we plan for future projects, we need the following items:

Challenges for Missionaries
Although numerous challenges arose, we experienced God’s abundant grace:

- Fear of kidnappers or attacks
- Distance and location
- Network issues
- Presence of scorpions in the environment
- Poor water quality
- Finding comfortable places to sleep
